Filmmaker Lancelot Imasuen @lancelotimasuen has announced plans to organize the International Students Film Festival at Igbinedion University in Okada, Edo State because he loves to make an impact in people’s life.
The festival, scheduled to take place from September 21 to 24, 2023, aims to provide a platform for students of Theatre Arts and Mass Communication to showcase their work and bridge the gap between the film industry and academia. Imasuen, known for movies like “Issakaba” and “Gbege,” wants to create a meeting point where students can display their talents while also receiving guidance from industry professionals and film scholars.
He went further to say that it is expected to be a campus-based traveling theatre and that they will be moving to different schools.
The festival will accept entries for short films, feature films, and documentaries, with awards presented to the best student submissions. Imasuen’s goal is to encourage and nurture young filmmakers by catching them early in their careers
