Toyosi Etim-Effiong, the founder and CEO of That Good Media, organized a Nollywood Stakeholders’ Forum in 1952 Africa in Lekki on May 9 2023 to discuss her partnership With the ESSENCE Festival of Culture and Film in New Orleans.

This partnership aims to promote Nollywood globally and expand its reach to a wider audience. The forum was attended by actors, media personalities, and influencers from the Nigerian entertainment industry like Shaffy Bello, Mofo Duncan, Dakore Egbuson – Akande, Shawn Faqua, Tola Odunsi, Erica Nlewedim, bam bam, as well as representatives from production companies like inkblot production, film one studios, Dabz production and more.

During the event, it was announced that Nigeria Day at the ESSENCE Festival will be dedicated to filmmakers and industry Professionals.

This is the first time in the festival’s history that an ‘Africa House’ will be featured. Toyosi Etim-Effiong expressed her passion for Nollywood and her desire to elevate it to the level of global counterparts like Hollywood.

The event provided a platform for networking and exchanging ideas on creating internationally relatable content. The ESSENCE Festival is an annual event that celebrates African-American culture and music, attracting a diverse audience from around the world.
